Duane Chester Collins
Duane Chester Collins, 90, Topeka, KS, died Sunday, May 17, 2015, at his home. He was born October 16, 1924, at Osborne, KS, the son of Chester Carl and Alice Rose (Montgomery) Collins.
Duane attended Downs (Kansas)Public Schools. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart.
Before his marriage he had worked for the railroad. He was an architect retiring from Ossmann and Associates.
Surviving are his wife: V. Ruth (Greemore) Collins of the home; a daughter: Kathy George of Ponca City, OK; two grandsons; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; a sister-in-law: Barbara Hahn of Topeka; and a brother-in-law: Larry Greemore of Florida.
Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW Sixth Avenue, Topeka.
