Dr. William F. "Buck" Adams, 79, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2014 in Topeka.
He was born August 19, 1935 in Cache, Oklahoma, the son of Wallace Franklin and Loraine Mildred (Ware) Adams. He was a 1953 graduate of Cache High School and graduated Panhandle A &M in Goodwill, OK with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and received his Doctorate in Education from Kansas State University in 1986.
Dr. Adams was employed by USD 345 School District for 38 years. He began teaching at Rochester School, later taught at Northern Hills Junior High, and served as Principal until retiring.
Buck married Sandy Stephenson on August 26, 1956 in Garden City, KS. She survives. Other survivors include three children, Steve (Janice) Adams, Tonganoxie, KS, Sue Adams, Overland Park, KS and Bill (Heidi) Adams, Topeka; and five grandchildren, Kelsey (Joe Mosimann) Nepote, Devin (Larry) Rabena, Hunter Adams, Mikala Adams, Bailey Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a younger brother, Robert "Bob" Adams.
Buck was a writer, artist, craftsman and an influential educator.
A funeral ceremony will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at the Rochester Cemetery, Topeka. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
