Dorris R. Pletcher

Dorris R. Pletcher, age 87, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Midland Hospice Care in Topeka.  Dorris was born January 4, 1934 in Florence, KS the daughter of Jesse and Mary (Branson) Britton.  She graduated from Florence High School.  She married Bill Nonken, they later divorced.  She married Billy Pletcher, he preceded her in death.  Dorris worked at Josten’s in Topeka.  Later in life, Dorris was a foster grandparent at KNI in Topeka.

Dorris was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Gross; a stepson, Tim Pletcher; siblings, Irene Jenkins, Pauline Creamer, Bob Britton, Wayne Britton and Ella Britton.  She is survived by a son, Michael Nonken of Milam, TX; two daughters, Carol “Jane” (Alan) Turner of Fletcher, OK, and Susan McGilton of Topeka; stepson, William (Cindy) Pletcher of Grovetown, GA; 16 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.
