Dorothy Alice Woodburn, 93, of Escondido, California passed away on August 24, 2021 at her home.
She was born on May 10, 1928 to Merle and Vera (Sanford) Dean in Topeka, KS.
Dorothy graduated from Seaman High School in 1946 then received her undergraduate degree from Washburn University.
She later received her Master's Degree in Education from Kansas University. On July 9, 1950, she married Frank Woodburn in Topeka. Dorothy worked as a Business Teacher for Seaman High School, before retiring after 34 years of teaching school. She was a member of Bethel Church in Topeka, and Bethel Baptist Church in Escondido.
Dorothy is survived by her brother, Charles Dean and her niece, Kathy Goodner.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank Woodburn in 2007, both of her parents, and her siblings, Robert and Betty Dean.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at 10:00 am at Rochester Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas. A memorial service will be held in Escondido, California at a date to be determined.
