Dorothy R. "Dot" Vaught, of Topeka, passed away March 27, 2023 at her home.
She was born in Edinburg, Mississippi, to Roger and Mary Ruth Allen (Taylor). The second of five children. Brothers, Carl, James, Johnny, and Dale.
Dot graduated from Carthage High School in 1957. She worked for Bell Telephone Company, Ramada Inn, and USD 501, retiring after 25 years at Capital City School as a paraprofessional.
She was a member of Rock Creek Bible Church in Meriden, Kansas. Dot loved to read, walking, visiting her neighbors and friends, and spending time with her three grandchildren. She was a member of Rock Creek Bible Church in Meriden, Kansas.
She married Larry D. Vaught in 1967. Together they lived in Topeka. Later they moved to Des Moines, Iowa, Fort Collins, Colorado, and Meriden, Kansas. Larry preceded her in death in 1994. Also preceding her in death was her son, Greg in 1981.
Survivors are son Mike (Jennie) Vaught; grandchildren, Steven (Tesla), Branson, and Ashley.
Memorial service will be held at Rock Creek Bible Church on Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 4:00 p.m.
