Dorothy M. Skidmore, Topeka, age 86, passed away, March 4, 2007 at Stormont-Vail Emergency Room.
She was born June 9, 1920 in Shawnee County, West of Topeka, the daughter of William and Mamie Suddarth Buckman.
Dorothy retired from Ohse Meats after 35 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her only daughter Janice Wallace in 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother and sister. She is survived by one sister, Gladys Holmes, three grandchildren, John Wallace and Jean Wallace both in Florida: Jason Wallace, Tucson, AZ; two great granddaughters, two nephews and one niece.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 am Friday, March 9, 2007 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue. Mrs. Skidmore will lie in state from 12:00 noon until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service. Inurnment will be at Prairie Home Cemetery at a later date.
