Dorothy Louise Rush

Dorothy L. Rush, age 91, of Topeka passed away June 29, 2017 in Topeka. Dorothy was born July 9, 1925 in Topeka the daughter of Albert and Agnes Sigfried Hefner. She was one of eight children born to this union. The family grew up in Topeka. Dorothy married Glenn Hawks, they later divorced. Dorothy worked at Jayhawk Janitorial, Manor of Topeka, Prize Package and was a waitress and manager at the Golden Horseshoe Club. Dorothy was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Hawks; three brothers, Henry, Thomas and Robert and a sister, Judy Douglas. She is survived by three sons, Glenn (Sheryl) Hawks of Wichita, Roy (Shelly) Hawks of Carbondale and Kenney (Jesse) Hawks of Burlingame; two daughters, Pam (Ben) Dreasher of LeRoy, KS and Connie Lowrey of Temple, Texas; a brother, Harry Hefner of Topeka; two sisters, Genevieve Heston and Ruthie Covert , both of Topeka; many grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren.

Visitation gathering will be Monday, July 3, 2017 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Inurnment will be Thursday, July 6, 2017 at 12:30 p.m. at the Topeka Cemetery. davidsonfuneral.com.
