Dorothy “Joan” Peavler, 94, of Topeka, Kansas passed away on November 28th, 2022. She was born on March 16th, 1928 to Harry & Elizabeth (Lamb) Bouton in Richland, Kansas. Dorothy married her husband of 58 years, Albert Peavler in 1950. They had one son, Randal Peavler, born August 31st 1952. Over the years she held positions at Duckwall’s and Highland Park Schools. She was also a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. An avid KU fan, Dorothy loved cheering on the Jayhawks in basketball. She also enjoyed gambling, always being lucky on the slot machines. Over the years, she cared for many cats & dogs. She was a member of a camping club for many years,Bulldozers camping around the state with her husband. Dorothy will be remembered for her love of spending time with her family.
Preceding Dorothy in passing and her Parents, Husband, & Son, Randal. Also preceding Dorothy in passing are three sibilings, Sarah Ruth Davenport, Edwin Bouton, & Darrell Bouton.
Dorothy is survived by her Sister, Lois Helm; Daughter In-Law, Debra Peavler; Two Grandchildren, Jason (Kristina) and Jarren Peavler; and One Great-Granddaughter, Shelby Peavler. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests for visitation on Saturday, December 10th, 2022 from 8-10am at Davidson Funeral Home, 1035 N. Kansas Ave. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Ascend Hospice.
