Dorothy Maxine Paramore, 96, of Topeka, died Sun., Oct. 30, 2011.
She was born March 9, 1915, at Junction City, the daughter of John and Luella (Williams) Godbey. She was a 1933 graduate of Salina High School.
Dorothy was a member of Seaman Congregational Church and Helena Chapter # 210, Order of the Eastern Star.
Dorothy married Lewis M. Paramore on Feb. 26, 1936 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on Feb. 12, 1986. Surviving are 4 children, Donna (Elmer) Kampsen, Visalia,CA, James Lewis (Leilani) Paramore, Topeka, Sandra "Susie" (Larry) Knedlik, Birmingham, AL, and Nancy (Gary) Bond, Topeka; 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, James, John Wesley, William, Richard, and Robert Godbey; and 2 sisters, Frances Williams, and Katherine Beisner.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Wed., Nov. 2, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka. Interment will follow at Rochester Cemetery, Topeka. Dorothy will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Tues., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Wed.
