Dorothy Mae Brading, 75, Topeka, passed away Monday, November 3, 2008.
She was born January 17, 1933 in Horton, Kansas, the daughter of Virgil and Florence (Russell) Carson. Dorothy was a graduate of Atchison High School, Atchison, KS. She was an active member of the Women of The Moose Lodge in North Topeka.
Dorothy was married to John C. Brading to this union there were ten children. Survivors include her children, John L. Brading of Sun City, AZ, Mike Brading, Skip Brading, Terry Brading, all of Topeka, Sue Hosler of Valley Falls, KS, Rick Brading and Bill Brading, both of Topeka, Dot Reichart of Basehor, KS, Sam Brading of Topeka, and Cathy Brading of Valley Falls; her father, Virgil Carson of Atchison; her brothers, Butch Carson of Tracy, CA and Bob Carson of Lee's Summit, MO; 25 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother and a great-granddaughter, Alyssa Lofton.
Dorothy enjoyed camping and garage sales in her younger years. Her later enjoyments were spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2008 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Ms. Brading will lie in state after 3 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m., Friday at the Cummings Cemetery, Cummings, KS.
