Dorothy M. Schone
Dorothy M. Schone, 101, of Topeka, entered her heavenly home on Sunday, September 4, 2011.
She was born June 3, 1910 on a farm in Jackson County, KS, the daughter of Fred C. and Pearl E. (Martin) Schone.
She worked at Seymour Foods, Security Benefit and retired in 1975 from the
credit department at Ed Marling's after 32 years of service.
She was a member of East Side Baptist Church since 1945, where she was active in the Children's Church Ministry for over 20 years.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, George Schone and Robert Schone; and two sisters, Katharine Schone and Lillian St. Louis.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Thursday, September 8, 2011 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, KS 66608. Interment will follow at Valley Falls Cemetery, Valley Falls, KS. Miss Schone will lie in state after 3 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care of Kansas, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606 or to East Side Baptist Church, 4425 SE 29th St., Topeka, KS 66605.
