Dorothy Louise Creollo
Dorothy Louise Creollo, 88, Topeka, died Sunday, July 12, 2015, at her home. She was born October 15, 1926, in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Alfred Carl and Mary Jane (Brown) Schinner.
Dorothy moved to Topeka as a teenager. She was a homemaker and after the death of her husband was employed by Josten's from 1978 to 2002, as a clipper and paste-up clerk.
She was married to Severino "Steve" Creollo on September 11, 1947, in Topeka. He preceded her in death on August 14, 1977. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, T. Marie Roberson in May, 1985; two sons: Jojo Ayala in December, 2002, and Karl Ayala in May 2007; a brother: Carl Schinner in 2014;
and her companion of 30 years, Lawrence "Bud" Werner, on May 1, 2015.
Surviving are six daughters: Socorro King (Greg) of Topeka, Mary Engstrom (Steve) of Kansas City, MO, Janet Markham (Rick) of Topeka, Connie Randol of Topeka, Margaret Nottestad of Topeka, and Mercy Goldseth (Matt) of Jacksonville, FL; two sons: Steven Creollo of Topeka and Glenn Ayala of San Antonio, TX; two sisters: Jeannie Winfree (Ray) of Excelsior Springs, MO and Wilma Tyree of AZ; brother: Alfred Schinner (Bertha) of Mesa, AZ; 20 grandchildren: Steven, Jr., Jason, Tina, Ashley, Rick, Bobby, Lisa, Nikki, Gary, Joshua, Jessica, Shawn, Ricky, Monica, Megan, Sarah, Dustin, Alec, Casey, and Jakob; 34 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. Also is her beloved dog, Sissy.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 17, 2015, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, KS with Pastor Tim Wilson of Lighthouse Bible Church officiating. Interment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th Street, Topeka, KS.
Dorothy will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
