Dorothy L. Bogart

Dorothy L. Bogart, 83, Topeka, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at K.U. Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. She was born Aug. 2, 1921, in Topeka, the daughter of Larence E. and Alta M. Ash Holmes. She attended Fairlawn Church of the Nazarene. Dorothy was a stay-at-home mom, and was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Dorothy married Laverne D. Bogart on Nov. 19, 1939, in Lawrence. He died Feb. 29, 1908. She was preceded in death by a son, Kirk Bogart, in 1975. Surviving are two daughters, Paula Bogart and Shelley Bogart, both of Topeka; a son, Steve Bogart, Topeka; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thu rsday at Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Bog art will lie in state after 3 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-GAbel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions maybe sent to the VA Medical Center, 2200 S.W.
