Dorothy J. Francis, 85, Silver Lake, passed away Monday, January 25, 2016.
Dorothy was born December 8, 1930 in Clifton, the daughter of Alfred and Pearl (Peterson) Jackson. She graduated from Clifton High School.
She was employed as a Secretary with the State of Kansas, Department of Revenue for 20 years, retiring in 1995.
She was a former member of the Clifton Christian Church.
She enjoyed camping, gardening and reading.
Dorothy married Elmer Lee Francis on March 23, 1949 in Clay Center. He died July 15, 2011. Survivors include their children, Donna (John) Ronsse, Morristown, TN, Daniel (Sandy) Francis, Silver Lake, Connie (Fred) Crowder, Topeka, Carol Michael, Albuquerque, NM, Donald (Joan) Francis, St. George, Charles Francis, Topeka; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Leta Osborn and Evelyn Sweet.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
