Dorothy "Helen" Nichols Sharp

Dorothy "Helen" Nichols Sharp, 83, Topeka, KS, died Wed., March 4, 2009, at Midland Hospice House. She was born March 4, 1926, at Topeka, the daughter of Charles L. and Dorothy A. (Peavler) DeMotte. She had lived in California before returning to Topeka in 1999. She was a member of Morning Star Bible Church. She was married to Charles Henry Sharp. They divorced. She was married to John Vernon Nichols, who preceded her in death. She was remarried to Charles Sharp in 2005. Surviving are her husband: Charles H. Sharp of the home; a daughter: Thelma "Sue" Shehan of Topeka; 3 step-daughters: Georgie Lee Dix of San Jose, CA, Barbara Jean Register of Jefferson City, MO, and Lorie Ann Taylor of Wilson, KS; a brother: George DeMotte (Edna) of Bonner Springs, KS; a sister: Reta Smith (Jack) of Topeka; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Funeal services will be at 1:00 PM, Mon., March 9, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery. Helen will lie in state after 2:00 PM, Sunday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.
