Dorothy J. Garner, 77, of Topeka, passed away on December 6, 2021 at Stormont Vail Hospital.
She was born on November 7, 1944, to Betty and Harold Inscho. Dorothy was raised by her father Harold Inscho and mother Florence Inscho in Topeka, KS.
Dorothy attended Highland Park High School. After school she spent her life dedicated to her children and raising her family. After her children left the home she started working as a cook. Dorothy worked at Woodland Nursing Home as a dietary cook for many years. Chili, pies, and brownies were some of her specialties. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her children, David (Juanita) Hedges, Teresa (James) Akin, and Danny Hedges; siblings, Laurie Ann Mans and Linda (Brad) Foster; grandchildren, Patrick Akin, Jami (Justin) Crispin, Josh (Christina) Hedges, Johnny Hedges, Jordan (Brooke) Hedges, Jared Hedges, Jessica Hedges, Markus Baker, Sarah Elizabeth Hedges, Austin Craig Sachen, and Trinity Anne Marie Hedges; great grandchildren, Alivia Akin, Alissa Akin, Kylie Crispin, David Crispin, and Blake Crispin; and best friend, Charlotte Rosenbaum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Garner; both of her parents, Grandchildren, Jacob Hedges, Matthew Hedges, Justin Hedges, and Abigail Rene Hedges; siblings, Eugene Rouille, Harold Inscho, Jr., Clyde Inscho, and Gary Wayne Inscho.
Visitation will be on Monday, December 13 at 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Parker Price Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 pm. Graveside interment will follow at Topeka Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Topeka Cemetery Association for beautification purposes.
