Dorothy “Jean” Fieger, 92, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away at Stormont Vail Hospital, Monday, February 12, 2018. Dorothy was born on August 27, 1925 in Ozawkie, Kansas to Frederick O. Denner and Ora Z. Johnson. Jean graduated from Ozawkie High School in 1944 and later went to work as a key punch operator at the Santa Fe Railway for 20 years. She met “Lou” Fieger and they later married on January 31, 1948 in Topeka. Bowling was a huge part of Jean’s life. She bowled for 40 years at Highland Crest Lanes. She was an avid KU basketball fan and loved spending time with her morning coffee club at McDonald’s every morning.
Jean is survived by her son, Jeff (Lori) Fieger of Topeka; daughter, Kelly (Doug) Frederick of Wichita; sister Lois Shereman of Perry; and three grandchildren, Ali (Seth) Rongkawit of Los Angles, California, Claire (Ben) Poteete of Wichita, Kansas, and Jesse (Allison Mayer) Kealy of Ozawkie, Kansas; five nephews, Fred, Rick, and Steve Friendle, Rich Fieger, and Greg Sherman; and four nieces, Sandy Shereman, Michelle Padgett, Lisa Slovick, and Jo Jo Fieger.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Louis “Lou” Fieger; three brothers, Walter Denner, Jack Denner, and Stubb Denner; and one sister, Margaret Peg Friendle, and infant twins.
Funeral services will be Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rochester Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 14, from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home.
