Dorothy Elizabeth "Betty" Casto, 83, of Topeka, passed away, Friday, October 6, 2006 at Stormont-Vail Hospital.
She was born March 21, 1923 in Lecompton, Kansas the daughter of Theodore Joseph and Alice Elizabeth Polley Sulzen. She was an Alumni of Lecompton High School.
Dorothy married Marvin C. Casto August 31, 1945 in Topeka. He preceded her in death March 18, 2001. She was also preceded in death by one son, Edward Lee "Bud" Casto September 14, 1971, a grandson Daryl Jay Casto, December 28, 1997 and a granddaughter, Angela L. Doll September 9, 2000. Survivors include one daughter, LaRita Marie McLain, Euless, TX; two sons, Donald R. Casto, Meriden; James D. Casto, Topeka; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2006 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue. Burial will follow at the Meriden Cemetery. Dorothy Betty will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday.
