Dorothy Bogart

Dorothy L. Bogart, 83, Topeka, died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004 at K.U. Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. She was born Aug. 2, 1921 in Topeka, the daughter of Lawrence E. and Alta M. Ash Holmes. She attended Fairlawn Church of The Nazarene. Dorothy was a stay at home mom she was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Dorothy married Laverene D. Bogart, Nov. 19, 1939 in Lawrence, KS; he died Feb. 29, 1980. She is preceded in death by a son, Kirk Bogart in 1975. Survivors include two daughters, Paula Bogart, and Shelley Bogart both of Topeka; a son Steve Bogart, Topeka; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel's Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Bogart will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel in North Topeka where the family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions can be sent to Veterans Administration Medical Center 2200 SW Gage Blvd. Topeka, KS 66622.
