Doron "Dale" Allen
Doron "Dale" Allen, 89, Topeka, died Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born May 5, 1926, at Eskridge, the son of John Wesley and Mable May (Winston) Allen.
Dale graduated from Topeka High School in 1944. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. He was a member of Capitol Post # 1 of the American Legion; Philip Billard Post # 1650, Veterans of Foreign Wars (life-member); and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Dale and Steve Lattyak owned and operated the Coffee Cup Cafe on Kansas Avenue for 30 years and the Allen-Lattyak Liquor Store for 20 years.
Surviving are 132 nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka. Philip Billard Post # 1650, V.F.W., will conduct military honors at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW. Seventeenth, Topeka.
Dale will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Monday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM.
