Doris M. Sales

Doris Marie Sales, 94, died surrounded by family on Thursday, August 15, 2024.

Doris was born February 12, 1930, in Perry, Kansas, the daughter of Bert A. Disney and May E. (Tillinghast) Disney. Doris was raised in Perry and graduated from Perry High School with the class of 1948. Doris lived in the Perry, Valley Falls, Hoyt, and Topeka areas. She was a member for many years of the Kansas Avenue United Methodist Church, was active in Joy Group, and worked there as the secretary. She also worked at Seymour Foods and was a claims examiner for Security Benefit beginning in 1956 and retiring in 1992.

Doris married Calvin Harold Sales on March 20, 1949, in Perry, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 2015. She was blessed with four sons; Steven, Danny, Stacy, and Tim.

She is survived by her sons, Danny (Marcia) Sales, Gravois Mills, Missouri; Stacy Sales, Tecumseh, Missouri; and Tim (Ronni) Sales, Topeka; five grandchildren, Joshua (Christine) Sales, Dawn (Mark) Tunstall, Katie (Joshua) Plante, Halie Sales, and Sydney Sales; five great-grandchildren, Chloe, Brianne, Miles, Jerrett, and Zoeii.

Preceding her in death were a sister, Bonnie Jean Disney, her parents, son, Steven, and daughter-in-law, Cheree.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 pm on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Parker-Price & Davidson Cremation and Funeral Services. Interment will follow at the Ozawkie Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends from 6:00 pm-7:30 pm on Tuesday, August 20at Parker-Price and Davidson. Memorial contributions may be made to Kansas Avenue United Methodist Church or to Prairie Wind Hospice.
