Doris Frances Mawdsley, 94, of Topeka, passed away on December 18, 2019 at Stormont Vail Hospital.
She was born on June 29, 1925 to Lowell "Babe" and Rose Worrel in Rushville, MO.
On July 13, 1943, she married Bill Mawdsley in Atchison, KS. Together Doris and Bill owned Sullivan Cleaners and Westboro Cleaners in Topeka.
She was a member of Lighthouse Bible Church and participated in Life Group.
Doris enjoyed quilting, crocheting, researching family history, canning and making jellies and collecting tea cups.
Doris is survived by her son, Bill (Jane) Mawdsley, Jr.; daughter, Kay Yocum; sisters, Rose Maycroft and Nancy Brown; brother, Jim A. Worrel; grandchildren, Stacy Burgen, Randy Yocum, Jennifer Walker and Krista Miller; and 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Mawdsley, Sr.; sisters, Margaret Worrel and Betty Armentrout; and brother, Robert Worrel.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00pm on Sunday, December 22, 2019, at Parker-Price Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, Topeka, Kansas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am on Monday, December 23, 2019, at Lighthouse Bible Church, 4110 NW 62nd St, Topeka, KS, with Pastor Tim Wilson officiating.
Internment will take place following the service at Prairie Home Cemetery.
