Doris Anne Brown

Doris Anne Brown, 83, of Topeka passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023.   She was born September 17, 1939 at Perry the daughter of Everett Edward and Velma Edna Grandstaff Fowler.  Doris lived on farms north of Perry.  She attended school at Perry and graduated from Perry High School in 1957 as an honor student.

She married Kenneth Gene Brown on August 21, 1960 at Perry Christian Church.  They lived in Topeka.

She was employed by Hallmark Cards Inc., Avon Products Inc., ATSF Employees’ Benefit Association, Century Health Solutions Inc. and Stormont Vail Hospital.   She enjoyed cooking and baking.   Doris was a member of Northland Christian Church.  Her greatest passion was her love for family, children, and helping people whenever she could.  She was never too busy to listen to whatever you had to say.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth Gene Brown of Topeka; son Kyle Gene Brown of Grantville, Kansas; daughter Kimberly Anne Tjelmeland (Kirk) of Topeka; two grandsons, Connor David Tjelmeland of Kansas City, Missouri and Carson Lee Tjelmeland of Lake Charles, Louisiana; sister Betty Jane Dix of Bonner Springs, Kansas.

She was preceded in death by her son Kirk Alan Brown on April 3, 1992; siblings, Phyllis Darlene Rice of Kansas City, Kansas, Everett Dale Fowler of Perry and Edward Wayne Fowler of Topeka as well as her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, June 2, 2023 at Davidson Funeral Home.   Interment will follow at the Grantville Cemetery.   Memorial contributions may be made to the Grantville Cemetery Association. www.davidsonfuneral.com .  To view her funeral service please click here.
