OBITUARY: Dora E. Locke
Dora Eloise Locke, 88, of Mosinee, WI, died Wed., Dec. 19, 2007, at Weston, WI. She was born June 8, 1919, at Waterloo, IA, the daughter of Otis and Hazel Cook.
Dora was a member of the Topeka Hand Weavers Guild for over 10 years. She also owned and operated Locke's Hobby Shop in Colorado. She was a talented artist with many creative talents. She knited, crocheted, and tatted. She made many baby blankets for her grandchildren. She wrote 4 childrens books. She was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church and had just joined the Mosinee United Methodist Church and later that day went into the hospital where she later died. She had only lived in Wisconsin for 11 weeks.
Dora was married to James Harry Locke on Jan. 3, 1942, at Pasadena, CA. He preceded her in death on June 13, 2003.
Surviving are three sons: Kenneth James Locke of Topeka, Robert Otis Locke of Storrs, CT, and Douglas Lee Locke of Mosinee, WI; and five grandchildren: Colin, James, Ryan, Jennifer, and Alyson.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Mon., Dec. 24, 2007, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Dora will lie in state after 1:00 PM, Sunday at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G.
