Donna Naomi (Bohnsack) Hart, 91, of Topeka, joined her Savior on September 29, 2012. Born November 17, 1920, in Topeka, to William and Anna (Mangum) Bohnsack, Donna was the youngest of eight children who preceded her in death: Harold (Ruth); Marvin (Esther); Maynard (Bernice); Emerson (Mildred); Fern (Harold); Dorothy (Keith); Juanita (Jerome).
Donna married Richard Hugh Hart on July 14, 1946. He preceded her in death on August 10, 1998. She is survived by a daughter, Alyce Diane (Hart) Albert (Ed); one grandson, Jeremy Edward Albert (Lora), and three great grandchildren, Allyson; Caedmon; and Jaxon Albert. Donna was also blessed with many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
Donna lived in Topeka's Potwin area all of her life. She graduated from Topeka High School and Clark's Business College, after which she worked for the Kansas Secretary of State as an assistant to then Secretary of State, Paul R. Shannahan and Deputy Secretary of State, Peter C. Reilly. She was a member of Central Congregational Church for thirty years and associate member of West Side Baptist Church; Christian Business and Professional Women's International; Wabaunsee Sportsman's Club; Southwest Bowler's Club, and she was a life time achievement member of WeightWatchers Int.
Donna will lie in state Monday from 3-5 pm, Tuesday from 9 am, until 8 pm and Wednesday from 9-11 am, at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, KS.
Graveside service will be held at Penwell Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS, on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at 12:30 pm.
The family also invites you to join them in a Celebration of Donna's life at 6 pm, on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at Terra Heights Baptist Church, 202 SW Sanneman Drive, Topeka, KS. In lieu of flowers, Donna requested donations be made to St Jude's Children's Hospital, in care of the funeral home, 245 NW Independence, Topeka, KS 66608.
