Donna Jean Foster, 85, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009
She was born January 30, 1924 in Topeka, the daughter of Harvey A. and Ethel (Watson) Zarn. She was raised in Maple Hill, KS. She was a 1942 graduate of Topeka High School. She was employed by Hart Printing and Cappers Weekly publication.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, member and Past-President of V.F.W. Post No. 1650 Ladies Aux. She was also a member of the Military Order of the Cooties Aux., Moose Lodge Aux., Capitol Post No. 1 American Legion Aux., Past-President 96 Infantry Division Aux. She volunteered at the Topeka V. A. Hospital for many years.
She married Donald J. Foster on May 31, 1942 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on November 1, 2008. Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy J. (Norman) Anderson and Donna J. (Terry) Myers, both of Topeka; two sons, D. Jerry (Patty) Foster of Topeka and Dean J. (Dannette) Foster of Mission, KS; five grandchildren, Robyn Anderson, Sgt. Brian (Marsha) Anderson, Randy (Amanda) Foster, Becky Foster, Melissa (Mikel) Smith and four great-grandchildren, Samantha Anderson, Madison McIntyre, Jacob Smith, and Tayler Foster. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Walter Harold Zarn, a brother, Robert A. Zarn, Sr. and a sister, Betty Lou Humbert.
Mrs. Foster was cremated. A family visitation will be 7-8 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Private family inurnment will be at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Topeka. Memorial services will be 2 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church, Topeka.
