OBITUARY: Donna Illene Bunger
Donna Illene Bunger, 76, Topeka, passed away Fri., Oct. 7, 2011, at Midland Hospice Care after a 3 year long courageous battle with cancer. Donna was born July 29, 1935, in Topeka, the daughter of Ronald and Alta (Howell) McCord. She graduated from Chanute High School. She worked as a secretary in the hardware department at Whelan's Lumber Co. for over 40 years. Donna's life centered around her kids and family. She never missed a birthday or a holiday without having the family all together for supper. Donna married Tom Bunger on Dec. 6, 1965, in Lawrence. He survives of the home. Other survivors include 2 sons: Brett (Mandy) Bunger of Auburn, and Brad (Roseanne) Bunger of Topeka; a brother: Gene (Ginny) McCord of Topeka; 4 grandchildren: Bryce, Blake, Brandon, and Sean; and a niece: DeAnn McCord. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Tues., Oct. 11, 2011, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, Topeka. Interment will be in Eskridge Cemetery. Donna will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Mon., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
