Donald Paul Rogers, 81, died August 15, 2020, with his family by his side in Topeka, Kansas.
He was born February 21, 1939, in Topeka, KS to William and Hazel Rogers.
Donald enjoyed learning as a child and he graduated from Seaman High School in 1957. He attended KU and Washburn University and received his Bachelors in Science in 1970. After graduating he was a Manufacturing Engineer. He was the lead singer for The New Life Singers group and had a beautiful tenor voice. He was also frequently asked by Churches to perform solos during service. After retiring he enjoyed working for WalMart in the paint department.
His interests included family, gardening, painting houses, bowling, tennis, baseball, football, singing, and writing poems. He devoted much of his time and energy as a caregiver to family members and the community.
Donald is preceded in death by his parents; and two grandchildren, Michelle "Shelly" and Bradley Rogers.
He is survived by his wife Patricia Rogers; 10 children, Catherine Swain, Melissa (Rodney) Leaman, Chris McElhaney, Michelle Rogers, Carrie (Michael) Etzel, Candice (Dylan) Stueve, Corey Rogers, Brian Rogers, Becky Kuzniak, and Brad Rogers; 19 grandchildren, Jessica (John) Liddell, Tyler Swain, Allyson Dehner, Bruce Leaman, Dyllon Tucker, Dalton (Jessica Holden), Dakota Tucker, Alexis (Colin Colbert) Stringfield, Kianna Stringfield, Lauren Etzel, Robert Etzel, Jacob Etzel, Gavin Rogers, Vanessa Rogers, Angela (Jason) VanAllman, James Kuzniak, Mikayla Kuzniak, Ryan Rogers, and Connor Rogers; 21 great grandchildren, John Liddell, Olivia Liddell, Lucas Swain, Maverick Swain, Remington Swain, Jayden Stevens, Jenna Doyle, Brielle Dehner, Kalem Dehner, Kyllie Tucker, Thor Tucker, Alan Holden, Daniel Tucker, Brayden Rogers, Aaliyah Colbert, Bryelle Colbert, Camdyn Colbert, Cheslee VanAllman, Brylee VanAllman, Alexa Kuzniak, and Brylee Kuzniak; as well as a host of extended family members.
A visitation will be at Parker Price Funeral Home on Friday, August 21, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. followed by Funeral Service starting at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Half Day Cemetery.
