Donald Ray "Pete" Peters, 70, of Topeka, passed away Thursday, July 24, 2008.
He was born April 29, 1938 in Cameron, MO, the son of Charles H. and Jessie R. (Leutzinger) Peters. He was a graduate of Cameron High School. He served in the United States Air Force from February 6, 1958 until he was honorably discharged on February 5, 1962.
Mr. Peters was employed as a pipe fitter at Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Topeka retiring after 32 years of service. He was a member of the Rubber workers Union, Local No. 307, National Rifle Association, and was a Cub Scout Master in Tecumseh, KS. He was an avid outdoorsman and gun collector.
Donald married Beverly A Snider on February 29, 1964, in Burlington, KS. They later divorced. Survivors include a daughter, Dawn Michelle Brown and her husband, T.J. of Topeka, KS; a son, Duane Eric Peters of Eudora, KS; a brother, Darrell Peters and his wife of Kearney, MO.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m., Monday, July 28, 2008 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence. The casket will be closed. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
Graveside services with military honors, will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at Harlan Cemetery, Cameron, MO. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead, Topeka, KS 66604.
