Donald Myers, Sr., 70, of Topeka passed away on Groundhog Day, February 2, 2020. He was born June 19, 1949 the son of Ross and Teresa Bledsoe Myers. Don grew up in Topeka and attended Highland Park and Topeka High during his high school years. After high school he served in the United States Army including a short tour of duty in Vietnam. In the army he was a heavy equipment operator and master mechanic. During Don’s working career, he was a truck driver for several freight companies. He continued his lifelong interest in working on anything with a motor. He was a big Ford man. Don enjoyed country music; Dwight Yokum, Hank Williams, and Elvis were some of his favorites.
Don is survived by his children, Donald E. Myers, Jr., Norman Myers of Olathe, Tammy Crouse and husband Josh of Topeka, and Beau Myers and wife Angie of Hutchinson; his brother, Ross Myers; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother Dale and sister Sharon Jackson.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. until the service hour on Friday morning. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Davidson Funeral Home on Friday, February 7, 2020. Interment will follow at the Meriden Cemetery. davidsonfuneral.com
