Donald C. “Chris” Luttjohann, 65, of Topeka passed away on Monday, December 21, 2020. He was born September 23, 1955 in Topeka the son of Margaret and Robert Luttjohann. Later Marge married Robert “Bob” Neiswender, who was his stepfather for most of his life. He attended Seaman School District for most of his life, he considered himself a Viking all the way, but went to Mission Valley High School late and graduated from there. Chris attended Washburn University as well. At the time of his death, he owned and operated Faith Building Services. Chris was in janitorial services for nearly 40 years.
He was a talented and dedicated musician. He was in several bands, including Saratoga, Echo Cliff, and Burlingame Road Band. He also loved being a worship service leader at several local Topeka churches. He wrote and performed an original musical, “It Is Finished” with his brother David in 1982 here in Topeka.
He married Roberta “Bobbi” Salyer on August 13, 1997. Together they have four children, Anne (Scott) Martin of Olathe, Tim Luttjohann of Topeka, Andrew Luttjohann of Topeka and Cortni Salyer-Hurst of Topeka. His most favorite role in life was being “Papa” to Darby, Aidan, Natalea, Emma, Marley, Sophia, Eli and Max. Other survivors include his brother, David Luttjohann of Topeka.
Chris was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Bobby Luttjohann.
Chris is also survived by his beloved dog, KayCee.
Memorial services will be Saturday, January 16, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home.
