Donald K. Kellogg, 70, of Grantville, passed away Friday, January 22, 2010.
He was born March 13, 1939 in Des Moines, IA, the son of Lloyd L. and Bessie B. (Whitsit) Kellogg. He served in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Kellogg was employed by the City of Topeka, retiring in 1989. He was a member of the Grantville United Methodist Church, United Methodist Men, Praise Band and a member of the Perry American Legion Post. No. 142.
Don married Roberta M. Peak on January 12, 1964 in Oelwein, IA. She survives. Other survivors include his daughter, Nicola Tebbutt (Wes), his son, Douglas Kellogg (Laura) three grandchildren, Randi, Samantha, Elisha and one expected; all of Topeka; his brother, Darrell Kellogg of Des Moines; and his sister, Alice Williams of Jacksonville, AR. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Grantville United Methodist Church. Cremation will follow the service. Private inurnment at Grantville Cemetery will be at a later date. Mr. Kellogg will lie in state after 3 p.m., Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Grantville United Methodist Church, 3724 South Street, Grantville, KS 66429, the Topeka Rescue Mission, 600 N.
