Donald Dale Arganbright, 71, of Topeka, passed away on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born on July 15, 1940 in Onaga, Kansas to Louis Dale and Eunice C. (Meade) Arganbright.
Donald was a Topeka High School graduate and U.S. Army veteran, where he was stationed in Germany.Donald was a member of Kansas Avenue United Methodist Church and past member of Holton United Methodist Church. Donald was a commissioner for Boy Scouts of America for several years and also was a member of the American Kennel Club where he was an AKC registered judge and handler.
On December 29, 1963 he married Lila "Jeanine" Furman in Topeka. She preceded him in death in 2006. He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Amanda Luthi, one sister, Betty Brandenbergh and one brother Robert L. Arganbright.
Donald is survived by his children, Eric D. Arganbright and Amy E. (Barry) Luthi, both of Topeka; sister, Patty R. (Robert, Sr.) Massey of Topeka; brother, Bill R. Arganbright of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren, Bret Arganbright of Okinawa, Japan; Ashley Arganbright of Topeka; Jessica Luthi of Topeka; Baron Luthi of Topeka and Chelsea Jenks of Topeka; three great-grandchildren, Anthony Guerrero, III of Topeka; Simon Arganbright of Phoenix, AZ; Benjamin Luthi of Topeka and his beloved dog, Sadie.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Burial, with military honors, will follow in the Rochester Cemetery. Donald will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 6 where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. all at the funeral home.
