40 year career long Frito Lay driver, Don Jordan (69) set his brakes for the last time, at his home, in Topeka, Kansas on January 25, 2023, as cancer interrupted his run through life.
Rejoicing with him in heaven are his beloved daughter, Abbey Joy Jordan, his parents, John and Ruth (Ruby) Jordan, his brother, Roy Jordan. Don leaves his high school sweetheart of 50 years, Joanie (Mitchell) Jordan, who blessed him with two sons, Bobby (Laura) Jordan of Delia, Kansas and Joe (Staci) Jordan of Silver Lake, Kansas; five grandchildren who were truly the light of his life, Army SPC. Justin Jordan of Ft. Riley, Kansas, Heather (Bryson Hase) Jordan of McPherson, Kansas, USMC PVT. Joseph A. Jordan, II. of Camp Pendelton, California, Katerina "Kitty" Jordan of Delia, Kansas, and Elizabeth Jordan of Salina, Kansas. Don was the youngest of six siblings surviving includes, Ray (Patty) Jordan, Doris Ann Kruger, Diane Jordan, Art Jordan, and Allen Jordan, all of Silver Lake, Kansas. Don also leaves behind multiple adored nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Don loved to golf, be outside camping and boating, traveling, and any activities involving his kids and grandchildren. Don especially loved caring for the family farm and making it beautiful. Don received multiple truck driving roadeo awards to include a KMCA state championship and he was extremely proud of his accomplishments with Frito Lay. Don cherished his friendships with former and current Frito Lay employees and friends of the Silver Lake Class of 1971.
A Celebration of Don's Life will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 2914 SE Michigan Ave, Topeka, Kansas 66605 at 10:00 am. Family will greet friends immediately following the service until Noon.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care, Silver Lake Education Foundation to assist in scholarships for graduating seniors,
Highland Park United Methodist Church, or to The Silver Lake Baptist Church.
