OBITUARY: Dixie Lee Garrett
Dixie Lee Garrett, 72, Topeka, died Fri., May 16, 2008. She was born July 17, 1935, in Topeka. Dixie graduated from Topeka High School. She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. She had been a volunteer at State Street Elementary School.
Dixie was married to Robert Eugene Garrett on Sept. 21, 1956. He preceded her in death on Dec. 18, 1996.
Surviving are a daughter: Lyn Sheern of Berryton; 2 sons: Robert E. Garrett, Jr. of Charlotte, NC, and James E. Garrett of Topeka; a sister: Donna Huske of Colorado; a brother: Ernest Schoonover of Colorado; and 10 grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM, Tues., May 20, 2008, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW Sixth, Topeka. Memorial contributions may be made to Heart of America Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St., Ste. 100, Topeka, KS 66614.
