Dianne Lee Kabriel
Dianne Lee Kabriel, 68, of Topeka, died Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at her home. She was born February 11, 1949, in Topeka, the daughter of Edwin Clemial "Eddie" and Frances Maybelle "Jackie" (Dunlap) Vandiver.
Dianne graduated from Rochester Grade School and Seaman High School. She worked at Goodyear for 16 years until her office closed in 1986. She worked for GTECH Corporation and then worked for Blue Cross / Blue Shield for 11 years, retiring in 2004. For eight years she played fast pitch softball for Pad Carry Out, McElroys, and Teamsters. She played slow pitch for eight years for Judy's Dairy Queen, Quality Excavating, DeBackers, and the Topeka Capital-Journal.
In 1968, Dianne was married to Roger Olden, and they later divorced. She was married to Dennis P. Kabriel on December 3, 2004, in Topeka. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Sharon Gordon.
Surviving are her husband: Dennis P. Kabriel of the home; son: Travis Olden of Topeka; grandson: Evan Olden of Topeka; two step-daughters: Michelle Smull of Topeka and Kimberly Guitreau (Tommy) of Louisiana; a sister: Karen Smith (Pete) of Topeka; six step-grandchildren: Vincent Smull, Mariah Smull, Miranda Smull, Bret Rickerson, Destiny Rickerson, and Joshua Rickerson; and several step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be at 3:00 PM, Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, KS. Private interment of cremains will be in Rochester Cemetery, 1200 NW Menninger Road, Topeka, KS.
