Delmar J. Bisnett of Greenville, TX and formerly Hoyt, Kansas passed away on September 2, 2023 at the age of 84. Delmar was born in Aurora, KS on December 12, 1938 to parents Mabel Budreau and George Bisnett. He grew up alongside four siblings: Raymond, Pauline, Louise, and Virgil. Delmar married Darlene Paynter in 1962 and built a life in Hoyt, KS with their three children: Mike, Dave, and Penny. After his time in the United States Navy, he spent over 25 years working as a maintenance man at KP&L. After the death of his first wife, Delmar found love again with fellow high school classmate, Phyllis Cox of Greenville, TX, formerly of Concordia, KS, and they married in 1998. Delmar learned to split his time between Kansas and Texas as he and Phyllis welcomed numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their over 25 years together. Delmar will be remembered as a gentle, easy-going man who was always willing to lend a hand to others. He spent his time enjoying the company of family, playing cards and billiards, watching K-State football, and completing many construction and welding projects including building his own home in Hoyt. Delmar is preceded in death by his parents, Mabel and George Bisnett, siblings, Raymond and Virgil Bisnett and Louise Sutton, children, Dave and Penny Bisnett, step-children, Terry and Craig Fees, and step-son-in-law, Warren Coday. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Bisnett, sister, Pauline Allison, son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Angie Bisnett, step-children, Kristi Coday, Brenda June, and Randy Fees. He is survived by sixteen grandchildren: Amanda Sadler and husband Michael, Casey Webb and husband Phillip, Shelby Bisnett, Matthew Bisnett and wife Kori, Marilyn Bauer and husband Austen, Hailee Waller, Hannah Vesper and husband Josh, Amber Fees, Shelley Fees, Jared Fees, Brendon Hauder, Breanna Zavalaga and husband GC, Brandel Hauder and wife Taylor, Broderick Hauder, Brittani Hauder, Hunter Coday and wife Allie, and Rachel Coday as well seventeen greatgrandchildren. While our hearts are left with a hole never to be filled, countless lives were made richer by the love and life of Delmar Bisnett. Services to honor his life include: Visitation, Thursday, September 7th from 7-8pm and Funeral, Friday, September 8th at 10am at Davidson Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to American Cancer Society and American Heart Association. Funeral service will be live streamed at here.
