Della Bell Halloran, age 89 of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018, at Midland Hospice Care. She passed away peacefully and was surrounded by her loved ones. Della was born July 21, 1928 in Hoyt, KS the daughter of Elyas "Jake" and Amey Connor Counts.
She married Bernard Halloran August 29, 1946 in Oskaloosa, KS. He preceded her in death after 64 years of marriage on January 1, 2011. Della was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She loved to be surrounded by family and friends. Some of her greatest joys were caring for her daughter, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. The doors of her home were always open and she welcomed everyone in with a homecooked meal. She knew no strangers. Della was a wonderful example of love for all that knew her. She enjoyed playing BINGO and would never turn down a chance to play cards.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Eric Halloran; a great-granddaughter, Nicole Halloran; five brothers, Jack Counts, Christopher Counts, Robert Counts, Art Counts, Earl Counts; and twin siblings in infancy.
She is survived by a daughter, Loretta (Tony) Bivona of St. Peters, Missouri; two sisters, Charlotte Kealy of Las Cruces, NM and Betty Franklin-Self of Tucson; four grandchildren, Leah (Keith) Loveland, Denae (Gary) Grim, Amey (Brian) McAllister and Alisa (Bill) VanGels and 10 great grandchildren, Trevor Halloran, Thomas DeMent, Leah Ann (Luis) Caso, Brianna Grim, Katibell Grim, Brody McAllister, Mia McAllister, Bryce McAllister, Billy VanGels and Analisa VanGels and six great-great-grandchildren, Chailyn Dickinson, Rylee Dickinson, Ayden Halloran, Sebastian Caso, Nicholas Caso and Sofia Caso. She was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her fifth great great granddaughter due in the near future.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Davidson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday one hour before the services from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be at the Rochester Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care and sent in care of the Davidson Funeral Home.
