Deborah "Debbie" Lynn Glotzbach

December 2, 1954 — August 24, 2018

Deborah "Debbie" Lynn Glotzbach, 63, of Topeka passed away on Friday, August 24, 2018 at Midland Hospice.   She was born December 2, 1954 in Topeka the daughter of Dennis and Betty Rickstrew Glotzbach. She attended St. Matthews Grade School and graduated from Hayden High School in 1973. Debbie worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 30 years before retiring in 2014.

For some reason Debbie had a passion for activities beginning with the letter "B".  For many years she bowled in both women's and mixed leagues, was a passionate Bingo player, and looked forward every month to her Bunko night and the wonderful ladies she had developed a close bond with.

As Debbie was known as the "Queen Bee" by anyone who knew her well, she obviously was an avid collector of all things "Bee".  Debbie was an intense Arm Chair Commentator of Life and Family and even though her "Opinion" was not always well received, she had a big generous heart and always meant well.   Debbie loved parties and family get-togethers.  She was in her element planning, organizing, and directing, down to the smallest detail especially the Annual Super Bowl Party, Christmas Dinner, Easter Breakfast and Egg Hunt.  Family was everything to Debbie.   She doted on her 14 nieces and nephews and 27 great nieces and nephews who were the true children and grandchildren she never had herself.  Debbie is etched deeply in our memories and will be truly missed.

Debbie was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Glotzbach.

She is survived by her family; her parents, Dennis Glotzbach and Ruby; siblings, Stephen Glotzbach (Becky), Byron Glotzbach (Sandy), Deanna Sheppard (Terry), Sondra Albright (Brian) all of Topeka and Becky Riis of Overbrook.; step-siblings, Mary Norton, Laurie Rivers, Ed Holm (Linda) and Jeanette Brown (Dan) of Bremerton, Washington.   Debbie is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews and 27 great nieces and nephews who were her true children and grandchildren.

Cremation is planned. The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 31 st at St. Matthews Catholic Church in Topeka.   The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am Friday morning prior to the service at St. Matthews.   Inurnment will be held later at Paxico, Kansas.   Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
