Deborah A. Campbell

1953 — September 18, 2024

Topeka

Deborah (Debbie) A. Campbell, 71, of Topeka passed away on September 18th, 2024, at a local hospital, with her family at her side. Debbie was born on January 16th, 1953, in Topeka, one of many children to Gladys Shaw & Noah Shaw. Debbie was raised in Topeka where she would spend her life as a stay-at-home mother and homemaker.

Debbie met Michael Campbell and would later marry him on March 27th, 1970.

Debbie spent her life as stay at home mother to her and Michael’s only child, Cora. Debbie would often work odd and end jobs, most notably being a motherly figure to anyone she met and babysitting.

Debbie was known to her friends and family as being headstrong, sassy, fun and outgoing. Debbie spent most of her time babysitting and keeping things in order around the house while Michael worked long hours at the mill. Debbie enjoyed spending time with her family and going to Branson, MO as well as Springfield & Rogersville, MO. Debbie was an avid enjoyer of the outdoors, despite her fear of birds and snakes. Debbie enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying the scenery at the family home while Michael worked hard in the yard. Debbie was easily entertained by watching the outdoor wildlife so long as the birds kept their distance. Later in life, Debbie would take great pride in being a great grandmother to her great grandsons, Lincoln & Liam.

Debbie is survived by her daughter, Cora (Manuel), grandchildren, John (Jordan) & Shannan (Brady), great grandchildren, Lincoln & Liam, brother David and Donald Shaw. Debbie was preceded in death by her husband Michael, parents Gladys & Noah, sister Cora Gutchenritter, brothers Theodore Hacker, Rosco Shaw, Jerry Shaw, Michael Shaw, and Larry Shaw.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 27th from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM at Parker-Price & Davidson Funeral Home located at 245 NW Independence in Topeka, KS. A private graveside memorial will be held by the family.
