Deb Myers, 51, of Topeka passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2010. She was born July 23, 1958 in Larned, Kansas the daughter of Gale E. and Joyce M. Scott Carney. Deb graduated from Lewis High School in 1976 and from Fort Hays State University with a B.S. in Accounting in 1980. Deb worked at Federal Home Loan Bank in Topeka for 12 years as a Staff Auditor III. She was a certified CIA and CIDA. She was a member of IIA and Fairlawn Heights Wesleyan Church where she served as Treasurer on the local board. Deb was an avid sports fan cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks. She is survived by a son Kyle S. Myers of Topeka, one step-daughter, Mary Womack of Little Rock, Ark, her father, Gale "Bim" Carney of Kinsley, two brothers, Randy Carney of Towner, CO, Craig Carney of Topeka, one sister, Mikki Ptacek of Salina and two step-grandchildren. Deb was preceded in death by her mother. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2010 at Fairlawn Heights Wesleyan Church. Interment will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Deb will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Friday, January 15th at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave., where the family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
