OBITUARY: Kenneth "Dean" Scheidegger
Kenneth "Dean" Scheidegger, 89, Topeka, died Thurs., Nov. 8, 2007, at his home. He was born Jan. 15, 1918, at Dawson, NE, the son of George Michael and Carrie Eliza (Boop) Scheidegger.
Dean worked at Edsall Auto Service until it was sold and then for Topeka Body Works until he retired. He was a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church until it closed and had been active in the Boy Scouts of America.
He was married to Audrey E. Baldwin on Nov. 23, 1939, at Hiawatha. She survives. Dean was preceded in death by a grandson, Richard Linder, Jr.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a son: William Scheidegger of Topeka; 5 daughters: Deanna Fiegener of Topeka, Patricia Linder of Topeka, Nancy Bass of Diamond, MO, Joyce Kirkner of King, NC, and Pamela Finch of Pomona; 2 brothers: Charles Scheidegger of Holton, and Bill Scheidegger of Topeka; a sister: Gwendola Curtis of Holton; 19 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM, Mon., Nov. 12, 2007, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. Interment in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Dean will lie in state after 1:00 PM, Sunday, at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.
