Dean Jennings Michael, 44, of Silver Lake, KS, passed away Friday, October 17, 2008.
He was born September 23, 1964 in Topeka, KS the son of Richard "Mike" and Janie Kay (Jennings) Michael. Dean graduated from Silver Lake High School. He was a sheet metal worker and worked at several heating and air conditioning companies for the past 20 years. He most recently worked out of the Sheet Metal Union in Kansas City.
Dean married Janice "Joy" Dick on September 19, 1993. They were divorced. Survivors include his son, Robison "Robbie" J. Michael; his daughter, Jamie D. Michael both of Silver Lake; his parents, Janie Kay and Don Gowin, Silver Lake, and Richard "Mike" and Sally Michael of Topeka; sisters, Shelli Mercer (Mark), Topeka, Kari Estes (Gale Myers), Meriden, Deana Marshall (Kevin), Monroe, IA, Carol Gregory (Henry) Vancouver, British Columbia; brothers, Tod Estes (Diana), Topeka, Greg Gowin (Connie), Burlingame, Mark Gowin (Amy), Virginia Beach, VA; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Michael was cremated. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m., Monday, October 20, 2008 at the Penwell-Gabel Parker Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence, Topeka. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a children's memorial trust fund, sent in care of Silver Lake Bank.
