OBITUARY: Dean Herbert Tichenor
Dean Herbert Tichenor, 79, Topeka, died Wed., Dec. 24, 2008, at Stormont-Vail Hospital. He was born Aug. 29, 1929, the son of Robert E. and Edna (Dillingham) Tichenor.
Dean was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad for 33 years. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, NARVE, Topeka North Post # 400 the American Legion; and the V.F.W. at Russell.
He was married to Arloa L. Blank on Aug. 21, 1955, at Natoma. She survives. Also surviving are 3 sons: Stan Tichenor of Topeka, Brian Tichenor of Lawrence, and Brent Tichenor of Topeka; a daughter: DeAnn Rangel of Tecumseh; a brother: George Tichenor of Arlington, TX and a sister: Florence Fellers of Hays; 10 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandsons.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 AM, Tues., Dec. 30, 2008, at Christ Lutheran Church. A US Navy Detail will conduct military honors at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church, 3509 SW Burlingame Road, Topeka, KS 66611.
