OBITUARY: David B. Crain, Jr.

David B. Crain, Jr., Perry, went to be with our Lord, Sun., Feb. 22, 2009. He was born in Webster, SD, June 7, 1935, the son of David B. Crain, Sr. and Lila (Olson) Crain. He was raised by his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. Tony St. Clair. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janice K. (Schneider) Crain, and a sister, Donna Wagner. He joined the Army right after high school. He later worked for Coke Cola before retiring from Goodyear Tire & Rubber on Oct. 1, 1996, after 37 years. He was a member of the Perry American Legion Post # 142 and Perry Lodge # 415, AF & AM. He is survived by his wife: Caroline M. (Hodson) Crain of Perry; 3 sons: David A. Crain (Leona) of Topeka, Bill Crain of Oskaloosa; and Steven D. Crain (Terry) of Topeka; a daughter: Earlene M. Burns (Lonnie) of Perry; 3 grandchildren; and a great-grandson. Memorial services will be at 10:30 AM, Wed., Feb. 25, 2009, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel. Perry American Legion Post # 142 will conduct military honors at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Perry. David will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Tues., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to The Kansas Masonic Foundation / Cancer Research, POB 1217, Topeka, KS 66601-1217.
