OBITUARY: Daryl John Krohn

Daryl John Krohn, 65, Stockton, MO died Aug. 15, 2005 at 6:04 p.m. at his home after a short battle with cancer. He was born April 15, 1940 to Herbert E. and Berneice E. Krohn in Grant Co., WI, the fourth of seven children. They ran a dairy farm. He received Christ as his Savior at the age of 10.

Daryl entered the Air Force in 1957 at the age of 17. He served 4 years active duty and 4 years inactive duty. He was honorably discharged.

He married Patricia Dow in 1959 and went to work in 1961 for Western Electric which was owned by AT&T. He joined Golden Rule Lodge # 90, A.F. &A.M. of Topeka on April 22, 1966 and became a Master Mason. He was currently a very active member of Stockton Lodge # 283, A.F. & A.M. In 1970 Daryl received his private pilot license and owned his own plane. Oct., 1970, Daryl and Patricia adopted a son, Kevin. They divorced in 1989.

He attended The New Hope Baptist Church and was very active in several churches in his life.

Daryl and Violet Breazeale were united in marriage in 1990. He retired from AT&T in 1992. Daryl and Violet moved to Missouri in 1996 and made their home in Stockton for the last 3 years.

Surviviors include his wife, Violet Krohn, and step-granddaughter, Kellie Poley both of the home; a son, Kevin Krohn of Topeka, KS; 3 step-sons: Ronald Poley and Curtis Poley both of Topeka, KS and Terry Poley of Wichita, KS; 3 step-daughters: Tressa Poley of Berryton, KS, Tammy Breazeale of Topeka, KS, and Donna Breazeale of Manhattan, KS; 3 brothers: Dick, Stanley, and Mark Krohn all of Wisconsin; 1 granddaughter; 14 step-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert, and 2 sisters Marita Dilworth and Marsha Esser; and a step-daughter, Trudy Poley.

Committal services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thurs., Aug. 18, 2005 at Carbondale Cemetery, Carbondale, KS. Graveside services will be conducted by Golden Rule Lodge # 90, A.F. & A.M. and military honors will be conducted by a Fort Riley U.S. Army Detail.

Daryl will lie in state after 4:00 p.m. Wed. at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wed. At Daryl's request please omit all flowers and send donations to New Hope Baptist Church, P.O. Box 374, Stockton, MO 65785.
