OBITUARY: Darlene May Stockwell
Darlene May Stockwell, 68, Holton, KS, died Sat., Dec. 18, 2010, in an auto accident at Fairview, KS. She was born Oct. 6, 1942, at Meriden, KS, the daughter of Buddie F. and Anna M. (Farquhar) Jepson. Darlene attended Valley Falls and Meriden schools and graduated from Meriden High School in 1960. She worked at Shawnee Heights Elementary School for 35 years before retiring. She was a member of Mothers of Twins. Darlene was married to James A. Stockwell on Dec. 2, 1960, at Meriden. He preceded her in death on Jan. 18, 2001. Surviving are 3 daughters: Bobbi Jo Stockwell of Topeka, Glenda J.A. Stockwell of Lee's Summit, MO, and Brenda J.A. Thomas of Las Vegas, NV; a sister: Joyce Teske of Sabetha, KS; 2 brothers: Jerry Jepson of Holton, KS and Donnie Jepson of Denison, KS; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Wed., Dec. 22, 2010, at Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Avenue, Topeka, KS. Interment in Meriden Cemetery. Darlene will lie in state after 3:00 PM, Tues., at the funeral chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
