Danny W. Simpson, 84, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2024.
Danny was born September 30, 1939, in King City, Missouri, the son of Daniel and Dorothy (Raines) Simpson.
He graduated from Union Star High School in 1957.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carolyn Johnson and brothers Richard, Robert and Melvin Simpson.
On September 6, 1959 he married Frances Bashor.
He is survived by his wife, daughters Debra (Craig) Webb, Dana (Darrel) Herd, Tanya (Lucas) McPhail; grandchildren Lindsay (Adam) Banks, Jamie (Heidi) Webb, Tiffany Troxel (Michael Wilson), Aiden and Seth McPhail, Karissa and Ashlynn Herd and one great grandson Milo Webb; sister, Viola Kerns; sister-in-law's, Geraldine, Delores, and Rosalee Simpson and many nieces and nephews.
Danny enjoyed woodworking, bowling, softball, hunting and fishing. He was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church. He had been a 15-year hunter safety instructor.
He retired from the Fleming Company after 34 years of service and 9 years with US Foods.
The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Parker-Price & Davidson Funeral Home, 245 NW Independence Ave., Topeka, KS 66608.
A Funeral Ceremony will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the funeral home. Cremation will follow the service. Burial will take place at a later date at King City Cemetery in King City, Missouri.
