Daniel Lester Sipp, 82, of Topeka, passed away on March 5, 2023 at University of Kansas Health System - St. Francis Campus.
Daniel was born on July 12, 1940 to Vernon and Eulavay (Malsbury) Sipp in Topeka, Kansas.
Daniel worked at Kansas Sand and Concrete where he started as a laborer and truck driver, he eventually retired as superintendent after 48 years. He was affectionately known as "dangerous Dan".
On April 9, 1958, Daniel married Patricia Sipp (Tibbits) in Lyndon, Kansas.
Daniel was an avid western movie fan and loved to go "junking" when he was younger. He enjoyed traveling to Kentucky and Colorado to visit his family. Daniel also liked to go to the casino with his wife for fun and going on Sunday drives. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, spoiling them with his cuddles. He was a very supportive father, who would always lend a helping hand.
Daniel has traveled to Florida, the Caribbean, Hawaii, Niagara Falls, and recently to the Panama Canal.
Some interesting life tidbits about Danny's various careers; he started out in the working world selling papers, shining shoes and delivering telegrams. Danny drove a yellow cab and worked for KNI shoveling coal. He worked for Forbes supply depot as a dishwasher and cook.
Following this Danny worked part time at Kansas Sand and Concrete and then as a dump truck driver for Meier's. Danny had worked for MW Watsons construction and drove a cement mixer building a highway in Wichita, Ks. Danny followed all of this up with 48 years at Kansas Sand and Concrete going from laborer to plant superintendent. Danny was well respected in this role by his peers and was affectionately known as "dangerous Dan".
Daniel is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; children, Richard (Ellyn) Sipp, JoAnne Stone (Randy (deceased)), Barbara (Roger Sanders) Markham, and Lester (Kim) Sipp; siblings, Mary (Charles) Frye, Judith Niccoli, and Charles (Marilyn) Sipp; 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren with one on the way.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; and his siblings, Freddie Sipp and Jeanette Tibbits.
Daniel's service will be livestreamed at the scheduled service time.

Visitation will be held Monday, March 13, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 at Parker-Price Funeral Home. Memorial service will follow at 6:00 pm.
