Dana Jay Torgeson

Dana Jay “DJ” Torgeson, age 56, of Topeka, KS passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at St Francis Hospital in Topeka.  Dana was born April 23, 1964 the son of Floyd and Dorothy (Baker) Torgeson.  Dana graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1983.  He was previously employed by Torgeson Electric and in recent years worked as an independent contractor.   Dana married the love of his life, Kim Anderson in 1991.  From that marriage, two children were born, Steven Torgeson and Melissa Torgeson, both currently of Grove, Oklahoma.  He also had a bonus daughter, Nikki Buchmeier, whom he loved like one of his own.  Dana is survived by his ex-wife, Kim Torgeson-Anderson; his children, Steven and Melissa; and two grandchildren, Logan and Traycen.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Dorothy Torgeson.

Dana enjoyed fishing and watching NFL football with his friends.  He was a die-hard New York Giants fan.  He enjoyed Kentucky Deluxe, hanging out with his friends and old rock and roll, especially the Doors.   He had many friends whom he considered as close as brothers.  He was truly one of a kind and will be missed by all.
